Local hero and WBO Junior World Champion Julian Vogel, representing “Team Germany,” faced the expectedly strong challenger in the undefeated current WBC Junior Middleweight World Champion Sami Ahmeti. Thus, two German boxers, aged just 22 and 21, respectively, one from Aschersleben and the other from Plattling, Bavaria, clashed in this duel for the WBO Youth World Championship at super welterweight.

And, as expected, it was a fast-paced, high-class duel between two young, ambitious boxers. After an opening with an advantage for the defending champion, Julian Vogel, the second half became truly exciting. With further round wins, especially in rounds 5 and 6, Julian Vogel, loudly supported by his large fan base, seemed to have won the fight. Especially since Sami Ahmeti appeared to be losing his fitness and was no longer able to hold his own. This impression reversed in the final rounds, and the young Plattlinger became stronger, winning round after round and throwing Julian Vogel, who was also suffering from a cut, off his game, causing him to lose his boxing edge. Overall, it was a very even fight, which was also reflected in the scorecards of the three judges (95:95, 96:94, 95:95), with a “majority draw” – a draw. Julian Vogel remains the WBO junior super welterweight champion, but Sami Ahmeti, with his great fighting spirit, is another winner in this exciting and thrilling duel, just like the entire German boxing sport!

SES promoter Ulf Steinforth: “It was to be expected: a thrilling, knife-edge fight. Two young German boxers, both junior world champions, engaged in a duel that captivated every boxing fan, whether in the arena or in front of the TV. I’m proud of fights like these; we all want to see these fights. And, three winners emerged from this duel: Julian Vogel retained his junior world championship belt, Sami Ahmeti proved himself a worthy challenger, and German boxing has once again gained a lot of prestige with such great young fighters! It was another fantastic evening of boxing here in Aschersleben: great fights, a knowledgeable boxing audience, and a fantastic atmosphere in the Ballhaus Arena!”

Third fight, third victory! “Team Germany” heavyweight Michel Dobler gave his opponent Timo Grote no chance, dominating with his 2-meter height and, above all, his “fast legs.” Grote bravely tried to absorb the numerous blows, but was rightly taken out of the fight by the referee in the fourth round after further hard hits and to protect himself from Michel Dobler’s overwhelming superiority. Keep it up, Michel!

This was boxing at its finest! With his technical and boxing skills, Hamburg-based lightweight Nenad Stancic defeated Venezuela’s “knockout king,” Yohan Morocoima, with a clear point victory. Over many rounds, with dynamic and fast boxing, Nenad Stancic set the tone and was able to avoid the Venezuelan’s feared hard hits – a fact that was clearly reflected on the scorecards.

Armend Xhoxhaj was so well prepared and trained for the eight scheduled rounds, he was all the more disappointed when his opponent, Dautovic, had to withdraw after the second round due to an elbow injury. The disappointment was still evident on Armend Xhoxhaj’s face long after the fight ended. “I wanted to show what I was capable of in the remaining rounds,” said the dejected Nuremberg cruiserweight.

He was clearly nervous: Christoph Fricke, however, was able to defeat his opponent Martin Friesse with a hard knockout punch in the second round in front of his home crowd, and with that, all his nerves vanished and his joy was great!
