Videos capturing moments of Priscilla Ofori Atta, widely known as Odo Broni, successfully performing traditional widowhood rites ahead of the funeral of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba have taken over social media.

The videos, which began circulating widely online late Friday December 12, 2025, night, show Odo Broni’s family presentating the things she had to present to the family of Lumba as part of the rites.

The emergence of these videos comes on the back of what has been described as one of the most dramatic days in the history of celebrity funerals in Ghana.

On Friday, December 12, 2025, just a day to Daddy Lumba’s scheduled burial, the Accra High Court was the centre of a fierce legal battle over who has the authority to organise the funeral and perform the associated rites. Earlier in the day, five members of the musician’s maternal family secured an injunction halting the funeral and restraining the family head, Kofi Owusu (Abusuapanyin), as well as Transitions Funeral Home, from proceeding with the burial or releasing the body.

The ruling initially got many worried, however later reports indicated that the maternal family even celebrated what they believed was a major victory, since they failed to meet a court-ordered requirement to pay a GH¢2 million undertaking by the stipulated dealine they lost.

This sudden reversal effectively cleared the path for the funeral to proceed as scheduled on Saturday, December 13, 2025, turning what had been a moment of triumph for one faction into a stunning legal setback within hours.
