Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has clarified the meaning behind his viral “settings man” remark, which recently caused some stir.
During a chat on Jamaican podcast The Fix, Stonebwoy explained that a settings man is someone who likes to fake and package something to make it appear true, even though they know it’s not.

He stressed that the term refers to calculated deception, a kind of staged showmanship aimed at misleading people.
When the hosts brought up Shatta Wale’s name in connection to the term, Stonebwoy avoided confirming whether it was aimed at him.
Stonebwoy to further make his point revealed that he knows a lot of musicians who do a lot of settings and if he comes out to make those revelations, it will cause a great disaster in the music industry so he will keep them to himself even though he is fully aware that the opposite would have been the case if he was the one they had such information about him.

The settings man tag first made headlines in December 2024, during an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi, where Stonebwoy accused Shatta Wale of using staged antics for attention.
He cited the GH₵5,000 gift to MC Portfolio, which he claimed was more of a publicity stunt than pure generosity.
