After days of statements from his camp, Burniton Music Group CEO Stonebwoy has finally spoken personally on the controversy surrounding the change of date for his much-talked-about Bhim Festival concert.

The award-winning musician made his first-ever direct comment on the issue when he appeared on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Addressing the issues that have came up, Stonebwoy admitted that although the entire situation looked bad from the outside, he believed changing the date of the concert was a necessary decision to avoid several challenges that could have negatively affected the event.

According to him, when the competing date was announced, he was genuinely shocked because many people within the music and entertainment industry are well aware that the Black Star Experience traditionally takes place on December 29.

The Bhim Nation president also revealed that following the controversy, he made several calls to people in authority in an attempt to resolve the situation amicably.

However, in the end, he accepted that the other event had strong government backing, which made it difficult to maintain the original date without complications.

He went on to explain that allowing both major events to clash would not have been healthy for the industry or for patrons.

Stonebwoy stressed that one of the key logistical concerns, he noted, was the use of Independence Square as a parking space for vehicles expected to attend the concert. With another massive government-backed event happening around the same time, this would have posed serious challenges.

He concluded by assuring fans that all issues have now been settled, and preparations are firmly on course for the festival to take place on the new date without any problems.

As officially announced earlier, Stonebwoy’s highly anticipated Bhim Festival concert has been rescheduled from December 26 to December 24, 2025. The event will still be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
