    The passing of Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba has left a deep void in the hearts of many Ghanaians and music lovers across the world.

    While the nation continues to mourn, controversial Kumawood actor Big Akwes has caused some stir with his unusual reaction to the heartbreaking news.

    In an interview with Mistake Chanti on Obantanpa Radio, Big Akwes made a statement that he is happy Lumba finally final passed away, a comment many have described as shocking and insensitive.

    According to Big Akwes, the highlife legend, known in private life as Charles Kwadwo Fosu, had been silently battling severe health conditions for years.

    He claimed that Lumba had undergone multiple surgeries and had spent the last three years of his life in a wheelchair, enduring constant physical pain.

    From his perspective, Lumba’s death was not a tragedy but a form of relief from prolonged suffering.

    He is recorded saying, “I was genuinely happy when I heard Daddy Lumba had passed. Not because I hated him, but because he had suffered enough. No one deserves to live in constant pain like that.”

    Daddy Lumba’s death was officially confirmed on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra, following a short illness.

    He was 60 years old. His family has since released a statement requesting privacy as they grieve and make preparations for his memorial.
