Ghanaian highlife legend Agya Koo Nimo has made an interesting confession about his admiration for dancehall icon Shatta Wale.
In a recent interview with media personality Kafui Dey on his YouTube show, the revered palm-wine music maestro didn’t mince words as he declared his love for the Shatta Movement boss.
The legend who is known in private life as Daniel Amponsah revealed that among the current crop of musicians, Shatta Wale, stands tall as his personal favorite.
In his own word, he revealed that the key reason why he loves is so much is because Shatta Wale tried to be different when he came back, and he has succeeded at it.
Beyond Shatta Wale’s musical ingenuity, Agya Koo Nimo praised the award-winning artiste for his personality traits, citing how free his is, his work ethics, and humility as the other reasons for his deep admiration for him.
The veteran musician went on to share his desire to meet the dancehall star in person. “I just want to invite him to my house and shake his hand,” he stated.
In response to this request, Kafui Dey promised to pass the message on to Shatta Wale.
When the host playfully asked if he would be open to collaborating with the self-proclaimed African Dancehall King, Agya Koo Nimo burst into laughter and replied, “At this age, I don’t have the strength now, but I’ll gladly play some guitar for him to use in the song if he likes!”
