Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, has stirred renewed public interest after she was spotted at the Adum High Court in Kumasi in the company of her close confidante, Papa Shee.
The development comes months after the death of the legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra.
His demise triggered a high-profile legal battle between his two wives—Akosua Serwaa, who resides in Germany, and Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni.
Following the singer’s death, Akosua Serwaa filed a suit at the Kumasi High Court seeking to be declared Daddy Lumba’s sole legal spouse.
However, on November 29, 2025, the presiding judge, Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, dismissed her application and ruled that both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni should be recognised as wives of the late music icon.
On Friday, January 9, 2025, Akosua Serwaa returned to Ghana for the first time since Daddy Lumba’s funeral. She arrived late at night at the Kotoka International Airport, where she was met by a large crowd of supporters led by her fan group, Team Legal Wives.
She later travelled to Kumasi and received another warm reception at the Prempeh I International Airport.
A day after her arrival in the Ashanti Regional capital, Akosua Serwaa ignited fresh discussions on social media after making a public appearance at the Adum High Court.
In a video sighted on the TikTok page Gossips24tv, she was seen walking within the court premises alongside Papa Shee.
Although the purpose of their visit was not officially stated, many believe it is connected to the appeal process related to the legal dispute over her marital status with the late singer.
The video has since fueled speculation online, with several supporters of Akosua Serwaa expressing excitement and optimism that her appeal against the High Court’s ruling may be underway, setting the stage for another chapter in the ongoing legal tussle surrounding Daddy Lumba’s legacy.
