Popular Ghanaian comedian Derick Kobina Bonney, widely known as DKB, has publicly apologised to MTN Ghana after earlier accusing the telecom company of stealing his data.
The comedian in a post shared on July 22, 2025 via his social media pages admitted he jumped to conclusions about his data usage without fully understanding what was happening behind the scenes.

In the video shared, DKB backtracked on his claims and offered an apology. According to him, MTN Ghana reached out to help clarify the issue, walking him through a detailed breakdown of his data usage over the past six months which has nothing to do with stealing.
He also revealed that several apps and phone settings were quietly using large amounts of data in the background without his knowledge. He used the opportunity to educate his followers on some of the common culprits behind heavy data usage:
The whole saga began when DKB, in a now-deleted video posted on X on July 19, 2025, questioned how a massive 214GB data bundle could vanish in just two weeks. He compared this to a previous 92GB package that lasted longer and suggested that MTN might be to blame for the unusually fast depletion.
