Billboards that recently sprung up in parts of Accra and Kumasi, announcing another alleged March 14, 2026 funeral for the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, have shockingly disappeared.
Renowned Ghanaian vlogger and bloggger Zionfelix, on January 19, 2026, shared videos showing that some of these billboards had been taken down and replaced with adverts of other individuals and brands.
One of the most noticeable removals he shared was the popular billboard located near Tech Junction, which had earlier drawn massive public attention on social media.
The sudden development has surprised many Ghanaians, especially as the billboards had boldly suggested that another major funeral ceremony, allegedly a state-sponsored event in Accra on March 14, 2026, was being planned, to be followed by a second ceremony in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
What makes the situation even more intriguing is that the billboards vanished shortly after Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa Fosuh, arrived in Ghana from Germany.
She returned to the country weeks after the musician’s funeral held in December, which she was unable to attend due to all the brouhaha.
With the billboards now gone, many are left wondering whether the much-talked-about March 2026 funeral in Accra and the proposed Kumasi ceremony will still take place, or if the plans have been completely abandoned amid family disagreements and public controversy.
As of now, no official statement has been issued to clarify the fate of the alleged second funeral, leaving fans of the late icon and the general public in suspense.
