News broke in the early hours of today, May 21, 2025, that renowned gospel musician Empress Gifty has filed a defamation lawsuit against Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.
The suit, filed at the Tema High Court on May 20, 2025, demands GH¢20 million in damages over alleged defamatory statements and the use of offensive language directed at Empress Gifty.

In a fiery response, Nana Agradaa brushed off the lawsuit, stating that she is unfazed by any legal threats. She made it clear that she has moved on from engaging with Empress Gifty or her supporters, claiming she now associates with “classier people.”
“Any idiot can go to court. I’ve left the farm, I’m now dealing with classy people, so I don’t have time to come out and make any banter with no one,” Agradaa remarked.
She didn’t stop there. Nana Agradaa launched a scathing attack on Empress Gifty’s husband, Hopeson Adorye, accusing him of inciting violence against her. She went as far as threatening to physically assault him if their paths ever crossed.
“If I catch Hopeson, I will beat him and for you, Gifty, let me tell you, you can go to court 100 times, 200 times, I don’t give a damn,” she ranted.
Agradaa further fumed, “For you, stupid Hopeson Adorye, you go and sit on the radio to claim I am evil and inciting people to beat me to death. You have bypassed your wife to scold and humiliate me.”

Dismissing the legal action as an intimidation tactic, Nana Agradaa emphasized that she is not someone who can be easily frightened by court proceedings.
“I am not part of those people you can scare with legal actions or the court,” she asserted.
She concluded by announcing her intention to counteract by suing Hopeson Adorye in an international court. According to her, the compensation she plans to seek—quoted in dollars—would surpass what Empress Gifty is currently demanding.
“If you sue me for 2 billion, I will also sue your husband for triple or more of that. I’m going to sue your husband in dollars, I will sue him in an international court and take dollars,” she vowed.
