Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster and host of Radio Gold’s popular mid-morning show, Okyeame Ayensu Badweneba, has reportedly passed away, plunging the media fraternity and his listeners into mourning.

The news of his demise was announced on Sunday, September 28, 2025, by his colleague and former actor, Henry Kodjo Agbai.

Although the exact cause of death has not been disclosed, reports suggest that the celebrated radio presenter had been battling health challenges in recent months, which kept him intermittently off the air.

According to Agbai, Okyeame Ayensu Badweneba was scheduled to celebrate his birthday on Monday, September 29, 2025, but died just a day before the milestone.

In a heartfelt tribute shared on his official Facebook page, Agbai revealed that he had spoken with the late broadcaster as recently as Friday, September 26, 2025 not knowing it would be their last conversation.

“Tomorrow would have been his birthday… but he’s gone. We chatted briefly on Friday… that was to be the last time. Rest well, Soldier. You were a true professional and a consummate presenter. So, teach us to number our days… so we may gain a heart of wisdom,” Agbai wrote.
