Veteran actor Femi Branch has expressed his discontent with Nigerian cinemas’ alleging that they prioritize the promotion of certain movies over others during the festive season.

Speaking on his experience as a meet-and-greet visitor at a cinema for a colleague, he underlined that to subtly promote a movie to viewers some cinema employees wear customized T-shirts of specific films.

Branch claimed that to convince the audience to see a certain film, the staff will even take the media card for that film from the counter and alter the running time.

Netizens have shared their experiences at Nigerian cinemas that favor one movie over another, and tweeps have attested to the actor’s observation.

    Below are some comments,

@creativetuitor Femi branch vs Nigerian cinemas. He is advising Nigerian not to make another production feel higher than others. Can you imagine that they wearing a production Polo at the cinema? Stop it

@bodunrin009 Well said egbon, cinemas are supposed to be neutral!!!

@nowayitsbright The management of silverbird galleria is really poor, Movie time is not organized, one movie was still on while people were standing outside for another movie. The toilets are bad ,the pop corn is wack.
