Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to partnerships that deliver mutual benefits, with a focus on job creation as a cornerstone of economic transformation.

Speaking at the Africa Growth and Opportunity: Research in Action forum in Palermo, Italy, Vice-President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who was invited to deliver a keynote address on Ghana’s job creation agenda, emphasised the importance of collaborative initiatives that drive shared prosperity.

“Job creation is central to Ghana’s economic transformation,” the Vice-President said.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang outlined the government’s 24-Hour Economy framework, which includes initiatives such as Grow24, Feed Ghana, and One Million Coders.

She mentioned that these programs are designed to boost productivity, create employment opportunities for youth, and promote inclusive growth.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang further urged global partners to prioritise fair trade, innovation, and technology exchange to foster mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders.

“We encourage partners to focus on shared prosperity through innovation, trade, and technological collaboration,” she added.

The forum, which brings together policymakers, researchers, and development practitioners, provided a platform for Ghana to showcase its strategies for youth employment and sustainable economic growth.
