Gabby Thomas (in a green scarf) was spotted at a friend’s wedding

American sprint sensation, Gabby Thomas turned heads over the weekend as she fully embraced Yoruba culture at a friend’s wedding in Nigeria, earning herself the affectionate name “Gabbisola.”

The triple Olympic gold medalist, who starred at the Paris 2024 Games with victories in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relays, was a bridesmaid at the lavish ceremony and stole the spotlight with her stunning traditional look.

Thomas joined the line of ‘Aso Ebi’ girls, a popular Nigerian term for bridesmaids dressed in matching outfits, and blended in perfectly with her outfit and poise.

She was draped in a turquoise-green sequined lace ensemble, tailored into a long skirt and a drop-neck, long-sleeved top. Completing her regal look was a leaf-green gele (head-tie), intricately styled to capture the elegance of Yoruba fashion.

Her fiancé, Spencer McManes, also played his part, rocking a green long-sleeved traditional top and sòkòtò (native trousers) to complement the vibrant theme.

Thomas shared stunning photos and clips from the cultural celebration on her Instagram page, captioning them “Gabbisola”, a playful Yoruba-inspired name derived from “Sola,” which means “to make wealth.”

Fans flooded her comments section with admiration, praising her effortless blend of beauty, culture, and grace.
