The seats at the upper section of the Independence Square stand of the Accra Sports Stadium have been closed to fans due to ongoing renovation works.
Ghana will host Chad at the venue on Friday, March 21, 2025, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. However, with the facility requiring refurbishment before the game, workers were brought in to restore it to top condition ahead of match day.
With only a few hours left before the game, reports and images circulating show some parts of the stands covered in Black Stars paraphernalia.
In a video shared by Sporty FM, the Independence Square Stand is adorned with images of notable tourist centres in Ghana.
A win against Chad would propel the Black Stars to first place in the standings, following Madagascar’s victory over the Central African Republic on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, and Mali’s victory over Comoros on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
After the Chad game, the team will travel to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24, 2025.
