The 9th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games are currently taking place at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), bringing together student-athletes from various tertiary institutions across the country.
The competition serves as a platform to promote sports development and strengthen unity among universities while encouraging students to balance athletics with academic excellence.
The official opening ceremony of the Games is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1:00 pm on the UPSA campus, where participating schools, sports officials and invited guests are expected to gather for the event.
This year’s competition is being held under the theme, “Integrating University Sports with Academic Professionalism,” highlighting the importance of combining sporting activities with education and professional growth.
Organizers believe the Games will help nurture young sporting talents while promoting discipline, teamwork and healthy competition among students.
