Africa’s foremost industrialist and business leader, Aliko Dangote, will join President John Dramani Mahama to open the Invest Ghana Summit (IGS) 2026, Ghana’s premier international investment and business forum, scheduled for 16th and 17th November 2026 at the Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City, Accra.
The Summit is expected to draw investors, multinational corporations, policymakers and business leaders from around the world, reinforcing Ghana’s standing as one of Africa’s most attractive destinations for investment and regional expansion.
Convened by the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), with support from the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry; Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA); Bank of Ghana (BoG); Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA); National African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Coordination Office; and the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+), and in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, the President-led Summit will connect international capital with investment-ready opportunities across manufacturing, agribusiness, infrastructure, energy, logistics, healthcare, mining, tourism, digital technology and the creative economy.
Held under the theme “Investing in Ghana’s New Economy: Building a Productive Economy that Creates Value and Competes Globally”, the Summit will showcase Ghana’s renewed investment proposition and accelerate partnerships that support the country’s economic transformation agenda.
This includes the government-led US$10 billion investment programme (2026–2030) to shift the country from economic stabilisation to production-led growth, with major funding for agriculture, manufacturing, energy, mining value‑addition, tourism and other productive sectors, as well as the recently enacted GIPA Act, which strengthens the investment facilitation framework and enhances investor support services.
Africa’s Industrial Future
A key highlight of the Summit will be an exclusive fireside conversation with Aliko Dangote, during which he will share lessons from building one of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerates and discuss opportunities to scale investment, strengthen regional value chains, and advance Africa’s industrial development.
The session will be followed by a keynote address from President John Dramani Mahama, who will outline Ghana’s economic transformation agenda and the country’s vision for investment-led growth, industrialisation and export expansion.
According to Simon Madjie, Chief Executive Officer of GIPA, Mr Dangote’s participation sends a strong signal to the international investment community of Ghana’s growing appeal as a destination for large-scale industrial investment.
“Mr Dangote’s presence at the Invest Ghana Summit is a powerful endorsement of Ghana’s economic potential and investment outlook. As one of Africa’s most respected industrial leaders, he will enrich discussions on industrialisation, regional value chains and private-sector-led growth, while inspiring investors and entrepreneurs seeking to build globally competitive businesses from Africa.”
Another major attraction for investors will be the Investor Facilitation Hub, which will bring together 19 public institutions under one roof to provide real-time support for business registration, taxation, permits, immigration services, incentives, environmental approvals, and other regulatory requirements.
The summit will also host an AfCFTA Investment Breakfast to explore opportunities arising from Africa’s single market, with discussions covering industrialisation, regional value chains, investment facilitation, and how businesses can leverage Ghana’s position as host of the AfCFTA Secretariat to expand across the continent.
Investment Opportunities
A distinguishing feature of the Summit is its focus on investment execution. Participants will gain direct access to a pipeline of investment-ready projects spanning strategic sectors of the economy.
Highlighted projects include the Eastern Railway Line Development Project, the Accra-Tema Motorway Expansion Project, the Volo-Battor Agro-Industrial Park, the Volta Lake Transport System, the Legon Pharmaceutical Innovation Park, the Tamale Air Cargo and Logistics Hub, and the Buipe Solar and Battery Storage Project.
The Summit will also showcase regional investment opportunities through the GIPA Investment Opportunities Mapping Project (IOMP), including cocoa processing, cashew processing, rice farming, cassava starch production, tomato processing, livestock production, and agricultural logistics infrastructure in the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions,
Others include the US$1.46 billion Buipe Solar and Storage Project in the Savannah Region, which will power regional inland ports, logistics hubs, and agro-industrial parks through a dedicated commercial vehicle (24H Parks Energy PLC); the Green Forestry and Climate Investment Corridor project spanning six regions, including Western North, Ashanti, Bono East, Eastern, Savannah and Oti, to promote commercial forestry and carbon market projects, among others; and investment prospects in the development of safari lodges, wellness resorts, conference facilities, and cultural heritage destinations aimed at attracting both domestic and international travellers.
In addition, participants will engage in curated business-to-business and business-to-government meetings, investment deal rooms, and sector-focused panel discussions on regional investment, pharmaceuticals and the industrial value chain; digital economy, technology and services; energy and green industrial growth; mining, minerals and the downstream value chain; infrastructure, transport and logistics; creative economy, tourism and diaspora connections for investment and economic growth; fintech and the future of financial services in Ghana; and networking sessions with regulators, project promoters and financiers.
Driving Economic Impact
Highlighting the event’s broader significance, Mr Madjie said the Summit is expected to stimulate business expansion, create jobs, drive industrialisation, deepen technology transfer, and unlock new export opportunities.
“By connecting investors directly with bankable projects and decision-makers, we are creating a platform that turns investor interest into tangible economic outcomes for Ghana,” he added.
