The National U-15 Boys team maintained their perfect start at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival with an emphatic 7-1 victory over Myanmar in their second Group W match in Azerbaijan yesterday.

After opening their campaign with a 4-1 win over Uzbekistan, the young lads produced another dominant display to make it two wins from two.

Jerry Owusu and Abdul Aziz Issah continued their fine goalscoring form to put Ghana ahead, before Nathaniel Owusu added a third to give Ghana a commanding lead at the break.

Shamsudeen Sulemana extended the advantage after the restart, while Angel Junior Adjei struck twice to cap a ruthless attacking performance. An own goal from the Myanmar defence added to Ghana’s tally, with Myanmar managing a consolation strike.

The result takes Ghana’s goal tally to 11 in two matches and puts them firmly in control of Group W ahead of their third group game against Guam.

Ghana will wrap up the group phase against Bahamas and Kazakhstan today.
