A violent confrontation erupted in Boborama, a village in the Ellembele District in the Western Region, when two men attempted to stop the installation of a new Tufuhen.

The two men, purportedly from Tarkwa, were severely thrashed by villagers who deemed their conduct unjustified.

According to eyewitnesses, the men claimed to be acting on orders from Nana Akpoh Ababio Kpanyninli IV, the Chief of Asanda, who had urged them to stop the installation.

However, the residents of Boborama refused to believe their explanation, resulting in a violent conflict.

The incident has sparked concerns about chieftaincy rivalries and the possibility of unrest in the region.
