Donald Trump raged at Fox News as the first polls closed in the 2026 midterm elections, going as far as calling their exit poll questions ‘BULLS***.’
The President appeared on the network early in the morning for Election Day but began angrily posting to his Truth Social account hours later about their coverage.
He was in particular enraged by the results of the network’s ‘Voter Poll’ which showed, among other things, 87 percent of respondents concerned about gas prices and 62 percent blaming Trump’s policies for them.
‘The FoxNews Poll, always the worst, is so insulting with the questions they ask. Every question is a hit job, and every answer is “BULLS***!” This has been going on for years,’ he wrote.
It also showed Trump’s approval rating at 38 percent, in line with where CBS News and CNN‘s similar polls found him.
Trump then went after one of his favorite targets, Fox News’ The Five’s resident liberal Jessica Tarlov.
‘Watching the Pre-Election Results on FoxNews, but I can’t stand Jessica Tarlov’s voice — DUMB AS A ROCK, but it’s the voice that gets me. Have to go somewhere else until that LOSER is off the air — I’ll be back later!’
Trump went as far as to text co-host Greg Gutfeld live on the air, with Gutfeld reading out his message.

Trump went after one of his favorite targets, Fox News’ The Five’s resident liberal Jessica Tarlov
‘Greg, tell Tarlov – who is the WORST – gas prices are lower than they were for Biden and Obama and they allowed Iran to have the nuclear bomb. Furthermore, I inherited the worst prices and inflation in history from Sleepy Joe. Prices are heading down FAST! Just like all other prices and so is inflation which is 1.7 percent. And there will be no “nuclear bomb.
The President then went after the ratings at the conservative leaning network as a whole.
‘FoxNews Ratings are way down (27%!) because they’re spending too much time covering the Trump Deranged Dumocrats! All of those people who used to watch Fox, and no longer do, get it,’ he said.
‘It’s them, not me — My numbers are better than they have ever been. The new CNN Poll stated that “TRUMP” is at 99% among Republicans and, among Republican Presidents, “TRUMP” is at 53%, compared to Ronald Reagan at 18%, and Abraham Lincoln at 8%! Fox knows this, and so does everyone else!’
He also complained about the network’s owners at Fox Corp for donating to the left.
‘Also, why is Fox Corp. spending so much money donating to the Worst of the Worst, including Hakeem Jeffries, Jamie Raskin, Ted Lieu, Pete Aguilar, the California Dumocratic Party, the Dumocratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Dumocratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, the CHC Bold PAC, and the New Dumocrat Coalition Action Fund, among others?’
‘No wonder FoxNews Ratings are collapsing, and they’re going to go down a lot further. They’re way down, not because of me, but because they are AGAINST me! This happened once before, and Fox almost collapsed. It’s happening again!’
He continued to work the phones, telling CBS News that he ‘is prepared to use “tremendous powers” if Democrats take control.’
Fox News’ Jesse Watters was predicting a blue wave and wondering how bad things could get
The President then went after the ratings at the conservative leaning network as a whole
‘I have the ultimate power — it’s called ‘veto,'” he added.
Meanwhile, Fox News’ Jesse Watters was predicting a blue wave and wondering how bad things could get.
‘I don’t feel great. I feel like I’m about to play a game that I know I’m gonna lose. I’m just trying not to get hurt. And getting hurt would mean you lose the Senate. And right now the Senate is very much in play! And it’s making me angry! But I knew this was coming. Everybody knew this was coming. It’s just, how bad is it going to be?’
In the Senate, Democrats must flip four Republican-held seats to gain control. In the House, they need to pick up just three seats.
Americans have headed to the polls in droves to make their voices heard on a slew of issues, including the cost of living and the war in Iran, while chaos erupted in several key battleground states.
By the end of Tuesday, over 100 million people will have voted in House and Senate races across the country, determining whether Democrats can capture control of both chambers.
Predictions have included that Republicans will be swamped by a ‘blue wave,’ even a ‘blue tsunami’ – but other experts have been more sanguine, suggesting the polls could be wrong. It’s happened before.
Across the country, in conversations with voters, the Daily Mail has found the cost of living, gas and diesel prices, and disillusion with the Iran war to be the major issues, cutting across party lines.
Much of the frustration is aimed at President Trump, whose approval rating recently sunk to a record low of 36 percent in an average of polls, with disapproval topping 60 percent.
The President embarked on a frenzied last month of campaigning, holding 30 rallies in vulnerable states during October to get the GOP vote out.
However, some believe the gains may be offset by his presence and rhetoric putting off independents, what one expert called a ‘red undertow.’
Some Republican candidates walked a political tightrope, embracing parts of Trump’s agenda while distancing themselves from him on the Iran war.
Should Democrats take the House and Senate it will lead to Trump spending his final two years in office blocked from getting much of his agenda through, and engulfed by congressional corruption investigations into himself and his family.
Held in the middle of each four-year presidential administration, the midterms see all 435 seats in the House, and about one third of the 100 Senate seats up for grabs. This time it is 35 Senate seats. Three dozen governorships are also being decided on Tuesday.
Currently, Republicans hold a majority of 218-214 in the House. There are two vacancies and one independent who caucuses with Republicans.
That means Democrats need only to flip three red seats to take control and all reputable experts have them as overwhelming favorites to do so. It is mainly a question of how high they can push their majority in order to give Hakeem Jeffries, who would become Speaker, more capacity to rein in the democratic socialist wing of his own party.
Prediction market Kalshi put the Democrats at about 94 percent odds of winning the House and at 77 percent of taking the Senate, on Election Day
With the House almost certainly going Democrat, all eyes are on the Senate, where Republicans hold a majority of 53-47.
A 50-50 result after November 3 would mean Republicans keeping control, with Vice President JD Vance holding a casting vote. Republicans would retain control of the committees Democrats hope to use to investigate Trump.
For victory, Democrats must make a net gain of four seats, taking them to 51.
Of the 35 seats being fought, Republicans currently hold 22, and Democrats 13.
