Trent and Perez (M) and his family during his unveiling

Real Madrid have officially unveiled Trent Alexander-Arnold as their latest signing after the England international penned a six-year contract with the club.

The 26-year old right-back was presented to the media and fans on Thursday morning, June 12, 2025, at the Santiago Bernabéu.

He will wear the number 12 shirt as La Liga regulations do not permit the number 66 he wore throughout his Liverpool career.

Alexander-Arnold joins Madrid after the Spanish giants reached an agreement with Liverpool to release him early from his contract.

Although he was set to arrive on a free transfer at the end of the month, Madrid opted to pay a reported £10 million fee to secure his participation in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

The defender leaves Liverpool after 20 years at the club, having risen through the academy ranks to become one of the most influential full-backs in world football.

During his time at Anfield, he won nine major trophies including the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League titles in 2020 and 2025.

At the international level, Alexander-Arnold has featured for England in three major tournaments, the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups and UEFA Euro 2024.

Real Madrid had long identified Alexander-Arnold as a key target, and his decision not to renew with Liverpool opened the door for the move.

His contract at Madrid runs until June 30, 2031.

He becomes the latest in a line of high-profile players to join Madrid in recent years as the club continues to bolster its squad for domestic and international dominance.
