Travis Kelce‘s high school football coach believes the Kansas City Chiefs star will flourish in the next stage of his life as Taylor Swift‘s husband.

Kelce recently welcomed his old coach from Cleveland Heights High School, Jeff Rotsky, to Arrowhead Stadium where he met with Swift while watching his former student in action in the NFL.

That day, the Chiefs lost to Los Angeles Chargers and had their playoff hopes eliminated in a game where quarterback Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL. It comes amid growing speculation that Kelce will now retire after the regular season ends with his January 4 game at Las Vegas Raiders.

Rotsky believes that whether Kelce steps away or plays on, the happiest days of his life are ahead of him thanks to meeting Swift and praised how comfortable Kelce is with the attention on things away from the NFL.

‘I’m excited for him to become a husband,’ Rotsky told Cleveland Jewish News. ‘There’s very few people in the world that could handle the limelight the way he does.

‘And Taylor is the kindest young lady. I’ve only met her three times, but she is so humble, nice, wonderful and just an amazing person. Seeing how happy they are together makes me very happy because they each incredibly support the other and what they do.

Travis Kelce’s ex-football coach has praised his ‘beautiful’ relationship with Taylor Swift

Kelce is expected to marry Swift at her Rhode Island mansion in June 2026

Kelce’s ex-coach Jeff Rotsky recently spent time with the couple in Kansas City

‘God works in amazing ways putting people together. They’re beautiful together and we can only pray that they will have an unbelievable life together and continue to thrive.’

The couple went public with their romance in September 2023 when she sat alongside Kelce’s mom Donna to watch Kelce play for the Chiefs against the Chicgao Bears.

They are expected to marry in June 2026 at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion.

As for retirement, Kelce has enjoyed an impressive individual year even while the Chiefs have struggled badly. With his football hat on, Rotsky hopes fans won’t have seen the last of Kelce after Sunday’s game in Vegas is over.

‘He obviously proved he can still play. I’d love to see him play another year and make a run with everybody healthy on that team,’ Rotsky explained.

‘But if not, he’s going to be an incredibly successful man, he already is. You will see him in movies, in my opinion. Travis will be successful at whatever he chooses to put his mind to.’

Kelce has kept his cards close to his chest as to how he is thinking but has said he will hold talks with the Chiefs and discuss his feelings with his family once the season is over.

His contract ends with the conclusion of the 2025 campaign, so it would seem a natural time for the 36-year-old to call it a day.
