    Transaction value climbs to GH¢335 billion in December 2024

    Mobile money transactions continue on upward trend Mobile money transactions continue on upward trend

    Data from the Bank of Ghana shows that mobile money transactions in Ghana increased in December 2024 to GH¢334.8 billion.

    This represents a surge from the GH¢316.4 billion recorded in November 2024.

    The value of digital financial transactions in Ghana continues to rise, reflecting the growing adoption of mobile money.

    The number of transactions also saw a substantial increase, climbing from 709 million in November to 745 million in December.

    In December 2023, the Central Bank recorded a transaction value of GH¢199.3 billion with 657 million transactions.

    In January 2024, the number of transactions dipped to 618 million but rebounded in March and April, with figures rising to 631 million and 630 million, respectively, while the transaction value climbed to GH¢203 billion by April.

    By June 2024, the transaction value reached GH¢224 billion, with 644 million transactions recorded.

    In October 2024, transaction values hit GH¢298.6 billion, while the number of transactions reached 728 million.
