The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has responded to allegations made by a social media personality against the sector minister, describing them as false and misleading.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit and signed by the head of Public Relations Delassie Mabel Awuku, the Ministry said the claims sought to portray the Minister, madam Dzifa Gomashie, as disrespectful and unprofessional, an image it described as completely inaccurate.

The Ministry stated that the Minister has consistently demonstrated humility, dedication, and a strong work ethic in her service to the nation.

It added that her engagements with stakeholders, industry players, and the general public have always been marked by openness and mutual respect.

“The attempt to damage her reputation is not only regrettable but also undermines the efforts of the Ministry and all who serve the creative sector with pride,” the statement noted.

The Ministry urged the public to be cautious about individuals who promote sensationalism for attention at the expense of facts.

It encouraged Ghanaians to disregard such narratives and continue supporting the Ministry’s mission to promote and preserve Ghana’s tourism, culture, and creative arts.

The Ministry further demanded an unqualified apology from the social media personality, stating that the false claims had affected both the Minister and senior officials of the Ministry.

While reaffirming its commitment to transparency and constructive dialogue, the Ministry warned that it would not tolerate falsehoods meant to cause division or distraction.

    Background

The Ministry’s response was triggered by a widely circulated video on social media in which a young content creator alleged that Hon. Dzifa Gomashie was rude and dismissive during a recent creative industry engagement. The individual claimed the Minister refused to engage with participants and showed little interest in concerns raised by creatives.
