The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has called on Emirates Airlines to actively promote Ghana as a tourism destination by showcasing the country’s cultural and natural attractions onboard its flights, particularly during take-off and landing, as part of efforts to boost international visitor interest and arrivals.

The call was made when the newly appointed Country Manager of Emirates Airlines, Salem Almana, paid a courtesy visit to the minister to strengthen relations and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration between the airline and the Ministry.

Welcoming the delegation, Gomashie described Emirates Airlines as a valued partner and a true friend of Ghana, commending the airline for its consistency, professionalism and high standards of service delivery.

She noted that Emirates’ strong global reputation and extensive international reach position it as a strategic stakeholder in advancing Ghana’s tourism development agenda.

The minister further praised Emirates for setting a benchmark in customer service excellence, stressing that improved service delivery remains a key priority for Ghana’s tourism and hospitality sector.

She expressed optimism that increased interaction between Ghanaians and Emirates would facilitate the transfer of best practices in customer service across the industry.

In his remarks, Salem Almana emphasised the importance of collaboration with the Ministry, noting that Emirates is keen on working closely with the government to enhance the travel experience, promote Ghana internationally, and support sustained growth in tourist arrivals.

He reaffirmed the airline’s readiness to engage constructively with the Ministry to improve services and deepen its contribution to the tourism sector.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for open dialogue on broader aviation and tourism-related matters, underscoring the shared commitment of both parties to transparency, partnership, and long-term impact.

Both the Ministry and Emirates Airlines expressed optimism about future engagements aimed at strengthening Ghana’s tourism profile locally and internationally.

Present at the meeting were the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Yussif Issaka Jajah; the Chief Director of the Ministry, Joseph K Amoah; the Director for Culture and Creative Arts, Divine Owusu-Ansah; the Director for Tourism, Dr Geoffrey Tamakloe and the Acting Director for Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr Alphonse Kumaza.
