Tom Saintfiet has denied receiving any official approach from the Ghana Football Association for the vacant Black Stars head coach job.
The Belgian tactician, who has been widely linked with the position in recent days, made the clarification as the search for Otto Addo’s successor continues.
Otto Addo was dismissed earlier this week after Ghana suffered heavy defeats in their March friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Several big names have already distanced themselves from the role. Moroccan coach Walid Regragui has made it clear he is not interested, while Hervé Renard is expected to stay with the Saudi Arabia national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Saintfiet remains one of the most experienced coaches linked to the job, boasting nearly three decades of work across Africa. He has previously managed Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Malawi, Togo, Gambia and is currently the head coach of Mali.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just months away, the Ghana Football Association is still working to find the right man to lead the team.
Ghana are placed in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama. They will open their campaign against Panama on June 18, before facing England and Croatia.
