Assistant coach of Asante Kotoko SC, Hamza Obeng, has expressed disappointment following his side’s defeat but insists the club remains focused on the ongoing title race in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking after yesterday’s match, Obeng admitted the Porcupine Warriors were frustrated by the result but stressed that setbacks are part of football. He noted that the team struggled to convert their chances and paid the price after conceding a goal while playing with ten men.
“We are down with the result that we had today, but it’s part of the game. We need to put it aside and concentrate on our next game,” Obeng said.
He added that the team’s inability to find the back of the net proved costly, especially after conceding what he described as an avoidable goal at a difficult moment in the game.
Asante Kotoko were defeated by Karela United by 1 goal to nil, with the first half goal by Malik Abubakar.
Despite the defeat, Obeng remains optimistic about Kotoko’s chances in the league, insisting that the race for the Ghana Premier League title is still open.
