A man who was abducted by suspected herdsmen has reunited with his family after days in captivity, sharing details of the difficult experience he went through while being held by his captors.

The victim, identified as Mr. Anene, was reportedly kidnapped on March 16 while at his workplace. He was taken along with several other individuals during the attack. After the abduction, the kidnappers contacted his family and demanded a ransom of ₦15 million for his release.

However, on Thursday, March 19, Mr. Anene managed to return home on his own. When he arrived, he was seen limping and appeared to be in visible pain as relatives and neighbours gathered to welcome him back. Two men had to support him as he walked slowly toward his family.

Overcome with emotion, his wife was heard speaking on the phone, joyfully telling someone that her husband had returned safely. Mr. Anene later revealed that when he escaped, three other victims were still being held at the kidnappers’ hideout, including a woman who had been abducted with him. It was also alleged that the woman had been subjected to repeated abuse during the period of captivity.
