Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is set to extend his contract with Premier League side Arsenal despite Saudi Arabian clubs showing interest in signing him.
According to a report by Standard Sport journalist Simon Collins, the Black Stars midfielder is willing to forgo a huge financial offer from Saudi Arabian clubs that have approached him with a deal.
The journalist, who reports on Arsenal, noted that Partey is hoping his representatives will find an agreement with the Gunners for the deal to be completed soon.
The player is keen to sign a new deal before the 2024/2025 season ends in the Premier League.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta stated that Partey’s contract extension issue is being handled by the club and hopes there will be a positive outcome.
The Black Stars midfielder has made 50 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists, proving pivotal in the team’s midfield structure.
