Cardi B and New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, 32, have parted ways after a year of dating. A source exclusively confirmed the split to Us Weekly, revealing that the breakup occurred “a few days” before the rival Seattle Seahawks defeated the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
“They are always so up and down,” the insider shared. “This isn’t the first time they have broken up.”
“Things were getting too heated and complicated. Cardi is very no-nonsense,” a source told People separately. “The second she felt that she couldn’t trust him, she pulled back to focus on her kids, her music, and tour.”
Cardi B, 33, drew attention by celebrating enthusiastically after the Patriots’ AFC Championship victory on January 25. However, the “I Like It” rapper was notably subdued leading up to the February 8 championship game.
Her silence was broken when an ESPN reporter requested an “inspiring message” for Diggs. Cardi’s reaction was a clear shift in mood as her smile vanished before she simply wished him “Good luck” and walked away. The former couple also recently unfollowed each other on Instagram, adding to the speculation.
Diggs was also allegedly seen with Pree, a woman who allegedly had an affair with Offset, Cardi’s former husband, according to Page Six.
The NFL shared a video showing Diggs greeting Pree, his friends, and family before the game started. Pree expressed her affection for the athlete as he greeted them.
Pree was seen on the field with the Patriots, and she had access to the team’s hotel.
Cardi further confirmed the split rumors this month during her Los Angeles stop on the Little Miss Drama Tour.
“Let me tell you something, just because I ain’t f–king with my baby daddy doesn’t mean you get to talk about my baby daddy, bitch! This for you, bitch!” she said, per a viral video shared online.
Despite the breakup, Cardi isn’t overly upset. The source informed Us Weekly that “Cardi is single and putting herself out there again. She feels free. He betrayed her so many times. Her friends have been trying to show her that he is not right for her and that she deserves better.”
Meanwhile, the source told People that “She needs stability and wants the same for her kids,” while teasing that her connection with Diggs isn’t entirely over. “They co-parent, and the door is not completely closed. They might reconnect in the future,” the source said.
Dating speculation between Cardi and Diggs began in late 2024. This followed the Grammy winner’s divorce filing from her estranged husband, Offset. Cardi and Offset have three children: daughters Kulture, 7, and Blossom, 17 months; and son Wave, 4.
Cardi announced in September 2025 that she and Diggs were expecting their first child. However, just two days after the birth of their baby boy on November 4, a paternity test revealed that the NFL player had a 7-month-old daughter, Charliee, with model Aileen Lopera.
