Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana believes he made the right decision by joining Italian giants Atalanta Bergamo Calcio.

The 23-year-old joined the 2024 Europa League winners in the summer transfer window from English outfit Southampton FC, signing a four-year deal with the club.

Despite joining the team earlier this month, the former Stade Rennais player was unveiled at a press conference on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

According to the pacy forward, he had no doubts when Atalanta came for his services.

“I’m very happy for the opportunity I’ve been given, and I want to thank the Percassi family, Sporting Director Tony D’Amico, and coach Jurić for that. When Atalanta called, I had no doubts: their recent achievements speak for themselves, and I know this is the perfect place to compete in one of Europe’s top leagues,” he told reporters.

“I’m incredibly excited to make my debut in the Champions League. Then I will be reunited with Mr Jurić. I admire his mentality and work ethic. I am young and eager to learn and improve.”

Sulemana left the Saints after a two-and-a-half-year spell in England, where he made 74 appearances for the club, including games in the Premier League.

He reunited with manager Ivan Jurić, who had a brief spell with the player at St Mary’s.
