Ghanaian sports journalist Thierry Nyann has strongly refuted claims that his departure from Media General’s TV3 was due to privileges being taken away from him.

In a strongly worded Facebook post, the former sports presenter clarified that he voluntarily resigned from the media house, contrary to rumours circulating within the organisation.

According to Nyann, his decision to leave TV3 had nothing to do with personal benefits or privileges, but rather a natural progression in his career.

“I resigned not because privileges were taken away from me but because we all move on in life,” he wrote.

Nyann further revealed that he had previously attempted to resign from the company on two occasions before his departure was eventually accepted.

“They stopped me twice from resigning! I resigned twice!!!” he added in the post.

The experienced sports journalist also criticised individuals he claims have been spreading false narratives about the circumstances surrounding his exit.

He described the rumours as baseless office gossip and urged those responsible to focus on their work instead of spreading misinformation.

“I have been told there are gossips within TV3 that privileges were taken away from me and that is why I left the company. It’s so sad that there are still people who have nothing better to do with their lives than to sit in their offices and gossip,” he wrote.

Nyann also questioned the logic behind the claims that he enjoyed special privileges at the company.

“What privilege? Did I have access to TV3 bank account?” he asked rhetorically, dismissing the allegations as unfounded.
