Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson

Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has criticised the minority in parliament during his presentation of the 2025 budget.

While presenting the first budget under the current John Dramani Mahama administration, Ato Forson highlighted that the NDC government would support “Made-In-Ghana” goods under the 24-hour economy policy.

During his presentation, a disruption from the minority caucus regarding the minister’s ‘Made-in-Ghana’ bag, prompted him to pause and address his critics.

“Today, I came to this chamber with a Made-In-Ghana bag. They are screaming because they don’t know that in Ghana, we sew suits,” he stated, referring to the bag carrying the budget.

Dr. Forson presented the first Budget and Economic Policy of the Mahama-led administration in Parliament on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in line with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).

He discussed the current state of Ghana’s economy and the objectives of the Mahama administration to tackle the country’s economic challenges.
