Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the managing director of GIHOC Distilleries Limited and a well-known New Patriotic Party member, has stated that the party’s terrible loss was caused by the conceit of certain New Patriotic Party executives. Maxwell Kofi Jumah expressed unhappiness in the behavior of some party members in an interview with Ohemaa Woyeje on Angel TV, which he believes contributed to the party’s subpar result. Despite his seniority and important role in the party, Maxwell Kofi Jumah bemoaned the fact that some leaders consistently disregarded his calls and marginalized him. He characterized their mindset as an inability to strike a balance between political savvy and technical know-how.

Even though I was the party’s senior, there were times when I called them and they wouldn’t pick up. Some of the partygoers weren’t returning my calls. They were competent scholars who excelled at their jobs, but they lacked the political savvy required for the position. They lost because of that,” he added.

He added that the party’s unity and efficacy during the elections were weakened by haughtiness and a disrespect for the counsel of senior party members, which alienated important stakeholders. Following a crushing setback in the most recent elections, the NPP—once a powerful force in Ghanaian politics—was widely urged to reflect and undergo reform. The comments made by Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah bolster the mounting list of worries expressed by party insiders over the necessity of improved inclusivity and leadership in order to rebuild the party’s reputation prior to 2028.
