Joyce Blessing is a gospel musician
Ghanaian gospel musician Joyce Blessing has expressed concern about what she describes as increasing hypocrisy and division within the Christian community.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on November 25, 2025, the singer disclosed that many Christians have shifted their focus from love and unity to unnecessary comparisons and judgmental behaviour.
According to Joyce Blessing, some church members spend time criticising other denominations instead of promoting unity in the body of Christ.
“The hypocrisy and divisions in churches today are too much. That’s when you will see people criticising each other’s churches. They would be comparing their pastors and the number of years the church had been in existence,” she said.
She stated that these comparisons often lead to arguments that contribute nothing to spiritual growth.
Joyce Blessing stressed that all Christians serve the same God, regardless of their denomination.

“They will be arguing over unnecessary things but when you take out all these things, you will know God is only one. We should love each other and understand that we are all worshipping one God,” she shared.
She noted that some Christians wrongly assume that only members of their church are true believers, a mindset she described as harmful.
The gospel artiste also addressed the criticism she and others receive when they collaborate or interact with secular musicians.
“People assume if you don’t attend their church, that doesn’t make you a Christian. When they see you mingle with the secular musician, they would start judging you, meanwhile the bible doesn’t teach us that,” she said.
Joyce Blessing stated that such attitudes make Christianity more difficult than it should be.
“These things make Christianity difficult and I think we have to change that,” she added.
