M.anifest appeared on London’s Capital XTRA radio

Ghanaian rap heavyweight, M.anifest, made waves during a recent appearance on London’s Capital XTRA radio, where he confidently staked his claim as Africa’s top MC.

When questioned about the continent’s hip-hop landscape, the award-winning lyricist replied sharply, “Only two rappers in Africa; me and nobody in particular,” he stated with a grin.

The remark, however, has sparked debates across social media.

While some fans celebrated it as playful hip-hop bragging, others recognised it as a justified claim from an artiste.

The Guardian recently crowned “Africa’s foremost rapper” in their 2025 global music review, highlighting M.anifest’s album “The Gamble” as “a masterclass in pan-African storytelling through rap.”

Renowned for his intricate wordplay, intellectual depth, and seamless fusion of African rhythms with global hip-hop, M.anifest has spent over a decade building an unimpeachable reputation.

His discography bridges Accra’s streets with international stages, earning collaborations with Damon Albarn, Burna Boy, and Vic Mensa.
