Bereaved gospel musician Empress Gifty has finally revealed the sad reason why she abruptly cancelled an appearance on Nana Ama Mcbrown’s cooking show.
It could be recalled that after her inability to attend Nana Ama McBrown‘s Onua Showtime on October 13, 2024, actress Nana Ama McBrown expressed her frustration with Empress Gifty.
Both had promoted the show, but Gifty’s sudden cancellation left McBrown annoyed, prompting her to demand an apology.
Empress Gifty’s management later explained that her absence was due to her daughter’s sudden illness, which required immediate attention and a hospital transfer.
However, following the sad passing of Empress Gifty’s mother, McBrown decided to bury the hatchet and visit her.
It was during McBrown’s visit that Empress Gifty revealed the real reason why she did not come.
Empress tearfully explained that her mother had fallen ill on the day of the show, which was the real reason for her cancellation.
“I was about to come when my mother suffered a stroke; I didn’t want anyone to know then; that’s why I didn’t tell anyone,” she said while being consoled by McBrown.
Meanwhile, Nana Ama McBrown also decided to relinquish her ‘Empress’ title to gospel musician Empress Gifty, opting instead for the title ‘Her Excellency.’ This move ends their long-standing rivalry over the title.
Empress Gifty’s mother, known as ‘Agaga,’ passed away on December 14, 2024. She was a beloved actress and evangelist.
Many notable personalities have visited Empress Gifty to offer their support during this difficult time.
