Rapper Medikal was spotted performing Stonebwoy’s popular hit “Kpo K3k3” in a viral video from the NDC victory concert, sparking a mixture of shock and excitement among the audience.

Although Medikal was originally featured on the song, which gave him the right to perform it, netizens speculated that his choice to perform Kpo K3k3, out of many other songs he could have performed, was a subtle jab at the BHIM Nation boss.

The controversy stemmed from Stonebwoy‘s exclusion from the concert, with many suggesting that Medikal’s performance was intended as a dig at the dancehall artiste.

Fans pointed out that Medikal, who is close friends with Shatta Wale, may have used the opportunity to make a statement, interpreting his performance as a pun or response to Stonebwoy‘s absence from the event.

During his performance, Medikal also took a moment to praise Shatta Wale for raising Ghana’s flag in Jamaica by performing at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Concert.

“Big shout out to Shatta Wale wherever he is. He made Ghana proud, and it was his dream to do this, and we’ve seen it happen. Next year, you too will buy a car, go to Jamaica, or even London,” Medikal added.

He also extended his gratitude to President-elect John Dramani Mahama and the event organisers, thanking them for the opportunity to perform.

“Big shout out to His Excellency Mahama and his whole family. Also, a big shout-out to the whole team here, may God bless you guys,” he said.

    Why Stonebwoy was dropped

An official statement from the event’s organizers revealed that Stonebwoy’s removal from the concert came after pressure from grassroots supporters within the NDC.

Reports indicate that some NDC supporters raised concerns about Stonebwoy’s alleged ties to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which led to his exclusion from the event.

There is also speculation that Baba Sadiq, Stonebwoy’s rival, may have played a role in the decision. Baba Sadiq, an influential figure in the entertainment industry and the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi Central, has been in a public feud with Stonebwoy throughout 2024. This rivalry led to suspicions that it may have influenced the decision to drop Stonebwoy from the concert.
