Amid widespread backlash, particularly following his alleged snub at the Manhyia Palace, veteran Ghanaian actor Kofi Adjorlolo has stood to the defense of the King of the Igbo community in Ghana, Eze Chuckwudi Jude Ihenetu.

Kofi Adjorlolo, has highlighted the Igbo King’s significant contributions to the country’s film industry.

Speaking in an interview on The Liz Media Show, Adjorlolo described the Igbo King as a generous personality who has consistently supported actors, producers, and filmmakers, often at his own expense.

He recounted how the King usually made his residence and vehicles available for use in movie productions.

“That man has helped us a lot; he has helped the movie industry a lot. I don’t care what people say about him. People don’t know, he has invested in and sponsored films in Ghana. What I know him for is the fact that he has helped the industry, he’s given his house for us to shoot films, and he’s given his cars for us to shoot,” Adjorlolo said.

The Igbo King became a subject of public debate following a recent incident at the Manhyia Palace.

News broke that the Igbo King was stopped by the Asantehene’s linguist (okyeame) from shaking hands with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during the Asantehemaa’s burial rites.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, the Igbo community king has denied claims that he was prevented from greeting the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during the funeral of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom.
