    The recent announcement of King Charles III’s Commonwealth Playlist has set social media ablaze, especially in Ghana, as legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba found himself featured alongside global stars like Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, and Davido.

    Many netizens in Ghana have been fascinated about this feet and have been curios about how Daddy Lumba appearance on the playlist.

    Well, there appears to be a story behind how the classic hit “Mpempem Do Me” made its way onto the King’s personal music selection.

    Following the viral reports of his inclusion, Daddy Lumba took to his social media pages to shed light on how he got connected to King Charles III some years ago.

    The celebrated Ghanaian musician shared a captivating throwback video from when King Charles, then Prince Charles and Camilla, visited Ghana during President Akufo-Addo’s tenure in November 2018.

    The clip, which quickly garnered massive reactions online, showed Daddy Lumba performing the very same song, Mpempem Do Me, live at a state banquet organized in honor of the visiting royal.

    What made the video even more iconic was the sight of King Charles III swaying to the rhythm of the highlife tune and even sharing a dance with Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
