Today, June 29, marks exactly seven years since the passing of Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, Ghana’s former Vice President, who died in 2018.
He passed away at the age of 67 after reportedly collapsing during a morning workout at the Air Force Gym in Accra.
He was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The exact cause of his death remains unknown, though it is widely speculated to have been due to cardiac arrest or a heart attack.
A distinguished figure in Ghanaian politics, Amissah-Arthur served as Vice President under President John Dramani Mahama from 2012 to 2017.
Prior to serving as Vice President, Amissah-Arthur, who was an economist, was Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2009 to 2012.
