Entertainment pundit Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng has urged the courts to cite gospel musician Papa Shee for contempt following his recent comments on the legal dispute surrounding Daddy Lumba’s funeral.
Speaking on United Showbiz on November 30, 2025, Vida expressed strong displeasure over Papa Shee’s claim that lawyers for the opposing side were allegedly seen coming out of a judge’s chamber, a statement he made while reacting to the Kumasi High Court ruling that went against his preferred (Akosua Serwaa) side.
According to Vida, such comments amount to an attempt to discredit the court’s integrity.
“I can stand before God and say you’re a problem. Your understanding and interpretation are a problem. You went to court to say that you’ve heard that your opponent’s lawyers came out from the judge’s office. What are you trying to insinuate, she said.
Vida explained that legal expert Lawyer Fati had previously outlined the correct process for authenticating foreign documents in court, a process she claims the legal team of Lumba’s wife, whom Papa Shee strongly supports, failed to follow.

“When we spoke to lawyer Fati, she took us through the process in which you can authenticate the document you brought from abroad.
“Your lawyer failed and that’s what you should be bold enough to tell him because all the four things you took to court, none were signed,” she stated.
Vida further added, “If you’re a lawyer, you should know the basic things you should do when you’re bringing some documents from abroad before the court would approve it.”
She emphasised that Papa Shee’s continuous attempts to question the credibility of the judge and the judicial process should not go unaddressed.
“You sit here and discredit the judge’s work. I wish the court would cite him contempt and give him penalty,” she added.
