Brydon Carse had to be dragged away from a heated confrontation with Jake Wetherald earlier today after more snicko controversy.
A spike appeared to show as a delivery from Carse appeared to pass Weatherald’s bat and was then caught behind by Jamie Smith.
The review looked fairly conclusive. However, umpire Ahsan Raza decided not to overturn his original decision of not out, leaving Carse, and Stokes fuming.
Carse then confronted Weatherald, sharing a few heated words with the Aussie opener, before he had to be pulled away by Ben Stokes.
Graeme Swann on TNT Sports blasted the decision, calling it ‘ludicrous’.
I think that is one of the most ludicrous decisions I have seen in a long time.
Aussie great Adam Gilchrist told Fox Cricket:
I don’t think it’s going to be reversed, I think the best thing Ben Stokes did there was quickly act and get his fast bowler away from the umpire.
Brydon Carse looked like he had a head full of steam up there.
I can understand why England feel aggrieved.
