Media personality and entertainment pundit DJ Slim has urged Ghanaians to refrain from critiquing TV3 and a guest on one of its shows who had claimed that Sarkodie’s career has ended.
Speaking on the Street is Watching podcast on April 8, 2025, DJ Slim argued that the guest was simply expressing an opinion based on the perception that many musicians in Ghana are judged by their popularity.
“He has done well. I will always say this because he thinks King Sark’s career has ended. And I’m sure he’s used to how most of our award schemes are based on popular votes.
“Therefore, an artiste who is louder in a year gets voted as Artiste of the Year. So he thinks the same logic applies to the Grammys, when in fact, it doesn’t,” DJ Slim stated.
He added that the guest may have made such a statement based on his expectations for Sarkodie’s career trajectory.
“I think he made those statements because he was expecting a certain level of growth from Sarkodie,” he added.
DJ Slim’s remarks were in response to a recent TV3 show where guests discussed which Ghanaian artistes realistically stand a chance of winning a Grammy award.
During the conversation, Sarkodie‘s name came up, prompting one guest to declare that his career had come to an end.
