Popular Ghanaian musician, Edem, has taken to Twitter to express gratitude to former President John Dramani Mahama following the 2025 budget presented in Parliament.
During the budget presentation on March 11, 2025, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson announced that resources had been allocated to the Ministry of Works and Housing to address the tidal wave disaster that has displaced communities in the Ketu South Constituency in the Volta Region.
In reaction to this, Edem, who has been consistently advocating for government intervention in the crisis, took to social media to thank the president, stating, “Thank you, Mahama, for allocating the budget to help permanently… God bless you.”
Meanwhile, the recent tidal waves have thoroughly affected areas such as Salakope and Agavedzi in the Ketu South Municipality, leaving many residents displaced and properties destroyed.
The affected communities have long faced challenges from sea erosion, with residents urging the government to accelerate the second phase of the Blekusu Sea Defence Project to protect their livelihoods.
