Dashcam footage has caught the terrifying moment a reckless driver spins out and nearly crashes into two other cars before hastily speeding off.
The silver Citroen Saxo was hurtling along a 30mph road in Malvern, Worcestershire, on June 21 last year when the driver lost control coming round a blind bend.
The video sees the car turning 180 degrees, causing its rear to almost collide with a blue vehicle on the road before its front charges towards an oncoming driver whose dashboard camera captured the incident.
After mounting the curb, the driver quickly readjusts the wheel and jerks off without stopping to address the affected road users.
The footage was passed on to West Mercia Police as part of Operation Snap – an initiative which enables people to report road offences by submitting video or photographic evidence.
As a result, the dangerous driver was given four points on his licence, a £100 fine and had to pay £140 in additional costs after pleading guilty to driving without due care.
Police shared the footage online and viewers were quick to comment on the ‘light’ punishment received by the driver.
One said: ‘That could have ended so differently. I would say he got off that really lightly with the outcome, both in terms of the fine and points.’

Another wrote: ‘I think this is disgusting – the police response and the driver. There should be a minimum of license suspension.
‘That driver got extremely lucky that he didn’t collide with another car.’
Others noticed another vehicle following the driver in quick succession and questioned if the two cars were related.
One person wrote: ‘What about a ban for obviously going double the speed limit and racing his mate too? Got off very lightly in my opinion.’
However, opinions are divided and a healthy portion of viewers sided with the dangerous driver, calling the dashcam road user who handed in the footage a ‘grass’ who needs to ‘get a life’.
‘Something bad could have happened… but it didn’t. Lessons learned that day but the dashcam guy is a scum bag for sending it on,’ one comment read.

And another remarked: ‘No one got hurt, he just needs more practice.’
A spokesperson for West Mercia Roads Policing said: ‘The driver narrowly missed two other cars while recklessly driving along a 30 miles per hour road.’
‘Last year, we had 5,811 submissions by members of the public to Operation Snap reporting incidents of dangerous driving, including dangerous overtakes, driving through red lights, close passes for cyclists and horse riders, mobile phone use and many more.
‘We were able to take positive action in 76 per cent of these submissions.’
