Tems performs at 2025 FIFA Club World Cup halftime show

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Tems, became the first African artiste to perform at the inaugural halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final on July 13, 2025.

The FIFA Club World Cup final match, which took place at the MetLife Stadium in New York, featured Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

This was the first time FIFA had ever included a live performance as part of the Club World Cup final, similar to what is mostly done during Super Bowl halftime shows.

Tems took center stage during the halftime break with a performance of her hit song “Love Me Jeje.”

The show was presented by Panini, the popular sports sticker brand, and also featured appearances from other international musicians such as Colombian singer J Balvin, and American rapper Doja Cat.

A unique stage was set up in the upper stands of the stadium to host the performance. This setup allowed the show to go on without interfering with the football pitch, so the second half of the game could start without delay.

Tems’ performance at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup adds to her list of international achievements as she previously headlined the halftime show at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game and performed at some of the world’s biggest music festivals, including Coachella in 2024 and Glastonbury.

In addition to her music career, Tems also entered the world of football business. She is now a part-owner of Major League Soccer team, San Diego FC.
