The Adentan Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Ella Esinam Christine Nongo, has commended staff of the assembly for their sacrifices and dedication to duty, which have brought the assembly this far.

According to her, development at the local level thrives when leadership and staff work together in mutual respect and with a shared purpose towards achieving a common goal for the good of the people.

“Your dedication, professionalism, and sacrifices over the years have been the backbone of our progress as a municipality and must be commended. As we gather as a family to reflect on this journey, let us appreciate our collective efforts and encourage one another towards the total development of Adentan,” she indicated.

The MCE made these remarks at a staff durbar and get-together aimed at appreciating and rewarding hardworking staff while charting a new way forward for the year.

The event brought together staff and their families, traditional authorities, former MCEs, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Mohammed Ramadan.

The occasion was also used to present items to staff who distinguished themselves in their respective lines of duty. The awardees received tabletop fridges, laptops, cooking utensils, 32-inch television sets, cash prizes for long service, as well as awards for Best Municipal Guards, Best Head of Department, MCE’s Special Award, Most Promising Staff, and Overall Best Staff.

Ms Nongo stated that the awardees were carefully selected by their various departments with the aim of motivating other staff to give off their best in the line of duty.

She explained that leadership is not about position but service delivered with compassion, responsibility, and integrity, adding that, “I have seen these values demonstrated by many of you in your various departments and units, hence the institution of this awards scheme to spur you towards the total transformation of your units.”

The MCE indicated that the awards were not meant to create unhealthy competition, but rather to inspire excellence, teamwork, punctuality, and renewed commitment to inclusive leadership, staff welfare, capacity building, and improved service delivery, so that together they can continue to build a municipality they can be proud of.

Furthermore, Ms Nongo urged staff to rededicate themselves to the values and mission statement of the assembly to make it one of the best administrative municipalities in terms of service delivery and revenue generation, ultimately providing the best for its clients and the Adentan community.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Mohammed Ramadan, commended the awardees for their efforts and urged other staff members to give off their best in order to be part of the history-makers of the municipality. He also promised to support the assembly in its efforts to provide the best for its constituents.
