Tammy Abraham looks set to come under the guidance of a former Manchester United manager after Roma reportedly accepted a bid for the forward from a Turkish Super Lig outfit.

Abraham had spent his entire career on the books of Chelsea before joining Roma in a £34m deal in 2021.

The Englishman netted 37 goals in 120 appearances over three seasons before spending the 2024-25 campaign on loan at AC Milan.

He managed 10 goals in 44 games for the Rossoneri and ti became clear that Roma were willing to sell him this summer.

Russian side Zenit St Petersburg were interested but La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the approach of Besiktas was far more appealing to the 27-year-old.

The Italian outlet claims Roma have now accepted an offer of £17m for the striker.

Should the transfer be completed, Abraham will be teaming up with ex-United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer, 52, took charge of the Turkish giants in January, ending a more than three-year hiatus from football.

The Red Devils legend had been out of management since his brutal sacking at Old Trafford back in November of 2021.

The move to Turkey came after Solskjaer was briefly touted for a shock return to Old Trafford before Ruben Amorim took over in November.

His spell in charge of United, which initially started as an interim role, came after Solskjaer enjoyed 11 successful seasons as a player between 1996 and 2007.

He scored 126 goals for the Red Devils and won 12 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League during the famous 1998-99 Treble season.

Following retirement in 2007 due to injury, Solskjaer took charge of United’s reserve team, before he impressed as manager of Molde in his homeland between 2010 and 2014, winning two domestic titles.

Solskjaer’s success ensured he got the Cardiff City job, but the 51-year-old endured a difficult nine-month spell in south Wales where he was unable to prevent the Bluebirds from being relegated from the Premier League.

He returned to Molde in 2015 and spent more than three years in the role before United came calling in December 2018.

He helped Besiktas secure a fourth-place finish in the domestic league last season after joining in the middle of the campaign.
