Rockhill Chapel founder, cum gospel minister, Rev. Sonnie Badu

Ace Ghanaian gospel artiste Sonnie Badu has disclosed the one move the Ghana Football Association (GFA) must make to turn around the fortunes of the Black Stars.

In Sonnie Badu‘s view, the GFA must re-appoint coach Kwasi Appiah, as such a move will result in a reversal of the results being experienced by the Black Stars.

He explained that coach Kwasi Appiah was not pleased with Sudan’s victory over Ghana and would love to serve his country again.

In a reaction post on Instagram, he said, “Dear @ghana_fa_official, I can tell you for free that this was a painful win for my friend. Let’s swallow our pride and bring him back! This is more spiritual than physical, and if you think football isn’t spiritual, just hear me out—anything controlled by the wind definitely has mysteries. Get him back.”

Sonnie Badu’s direction follows Ghana’s defeat to Sudan, which has almost ended Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sudan at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud Mohammed and Yousif Yagoub scored the two goals for Sudan to defeat the Black Stars.

Owing to the results, the Black Stars are now third in the group with just two points, while Sudan is second with seven points.

Group leaders Angola have qualified with two matches to spare, having amassed twelve points from the first four matches.

The next round of matches will be played in November 2024.
